The region has rich wrestling traditions dating back to the history of the Kabardian and Balkar peoples. The RSBI branch integrates modern training methods while preserving cultural heritage: elements of traditional Kabardian wrestling («къабарты борын») and Balkar wrestling are included in the program of open carpets and demonstrated at republican festivals at the foot of Elbrus.
