The regional branch of the Russian Union of Martial Arts in the Republic of Buryatia covers 21 municipal entities and unites 29 clubs in Ulan-Ude, Bichura, Kyakhta, Tarbagatay, and other settlements. More than 3,800 athletes train in the region's halls in 16 disciplines: sambo, judo, karate, kickboxing, hand-to-hand combat, grappling, as well as traditional Buryat wrestling khuresh and Mongolian bukh.
