On March 28–29, 2026, the All-Russian Sambo Tournament "Cup of the Chief of the Engineering Troops of the RF Armed Forces", dedicated to the memory of Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School graduates who died while performing military duty in the SVO zone, was held in Tyumen at the Athletics Manege. The competitions brought together about 200 athletes from 47 teams from various regions of Russia; before the finals, the memory of the heroes was honored, and the honorary guests led by Evgeny Khromin, Alexey Biryukov, and Rustam Sayfullin encouraged the participants.


The Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School team became the champion in the team standings. Full results by weight categories and protocols are available below on the page.

About tournament

All-Russian Sambo competitions «Cup of the Chief of the Engineering Troops of the Russian Armed Forces» – an annual tournament dedicated to the memory of the graduates of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School who died while performing military duty in the zone of the special military operation.


In 2026, the tournament took place on March 28–29 in the Tyumen Athletics Manege and brought together about 200 athletes aged 18 and over from 47 teams from all over Russia.


List of prize-winners (men 18 years and older):


(53 kg): 1st place – Koroev Maksim (Moscow), 2nd place – Maoul Aleksandr (Kstovo), 3rd place – Martsinkevich Nikita and Khakimov Mirab (both – Krasnogorsk);

(58 kg): 1st place – Petrov Andrey (Murom), 2nd place – Gadzhia khmedov Shamil (Leningrad Oblast), 3rd place – Avedyan Suren (Sochi) and Bessonov Danil (Ishim);

(64 kg): 1st place – Yal'bakov Aimir (Gorno-Altaysk), 2nd place – Shakhbanov Ali (Murom), 3rd place – Dudup Salim (Krasnogorsk) and Osmaev Rasul (Moscow);

(71 kg): 1st place – Sanaa Buyan-Kherel (Kyzyl), 2nd place – Baiyshbekov Nursen (Ishim), 3rd place – Arsama kov Jabrail (Kstovo) and Zakharov Egor;

(79 kg): 1st place – Mirzoyan Artyom (Yaroslavl), 2nd place – Ponomarenko Dmitry (Primorsky Krai), 3rd place – Lukinykh Vasily (Irb it) and Shevyakov Artem (Kstovo);

(88 kg): 1st place – Ogorel'tsev Nikita (Murom), 2nd place – Bobrikovich Timofey (Ishim), 3rd place – Bezrodnov Daniil (Tyumen) and Gorodov Timur (St. Petersburg);

(98 kg): 1st place – Fomichov Bogdan (Tyumen), 2nd place – Farhodov Alisher (St. Petersburg), 3rd place – Akhmetshin Arslan (Tula) and Makhmuev Allan (Stavropol Krai);

(98+ kg): 1st place – Dib rin Nikita (Tyumen), 2nd place – Grigoriev Ilya (Volgograd), 3rd place – Kuznetsov Ivan (Severodvinsk) and Gamov Gleb (Chelyabinsk).


Team standings:


🏆 Champion - team of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School (TVVIKU, Tyumen)

🥈 Silver - team of the 28th pontoon-bridge brigade (Murom)

🥉 Bronze – team of the 45th engineer-sapper regiment (Engineer settlement)


As a result of the tournament, many athletes fulfilled the Master of Sports standards and qualified for the Russian Championship and Russian Cup. In the team standings, gold was won by the team of the Tyumen Higher Military Engineering Command School (Tyumen), silver – the 28th pontoon-bridge brigade (Murom), bronze – the 45th engineer-sapper regiment (Engineer settlement).


The tournament opened with a solemn ceremony with the participation of honored guests, including the director of the Tyumen Oblast sports department Evgeny Khromin, Hero of Russia Rustam Saifullin, and the head of TVVIKU Aleksey Biryukov. The event became a significant milestone for the development of Sambo in the Armed Forces and the fostering of patriotism among the youth.
