Svetlana Egorovna Averushkina is a Russian sambist and judoka, champion and prize-winner of the Russian and European Sambo Championships, world champion in Sambo, prize-winner of the Russian Cups in judo, Merited Master of Sport of Russia in Sambo (2013). Competed in the 2nd welterweight (up to 64 kg), 1st (up to 68 kg) and 2nd (up to 72 kg) middleweight categories. Coaches: V. A. Sudakov, Nina Radosteva.

Biography
Svetlana Avershina was born on May 7, 1979, in the settlement of Lel, Gaynsky District, Perm Region. In 1999, she graduated from the Kudymkar Forestry Technical College. During her studies at the college, she began training in sambo at SDYUSSHOR named after L. Golev under the guidance of Nina Radosteva and Elmira Vikilova. Since 1999, she has lived and trained in Perm. In 2013, she graduated from the Chaikovsky State Institute of Physical Culture.
Sports career
Competed in the 2nd welterweight (up to 64 kg), 1st (up to 68 kg) and 2nd (up to 72 kg) middleweight categories. Her coaches were V. A. Sudakov and Nina Radosteva. The pinnacle of her sports career was gold at the World Sambo Championship in Sofia (2006) in the up to 68 kg weight category. In 2003, she won gold at the European Championship in Albena (up to 64 kg).
