Carlos Prates stated that he should be the next opponent for Islam Makhachev.
According to the Brazilian, the new UFC contract provides him with the next title shot in the welterweight division. Prates expects to face Makhachev already in the upcoming championship belt defense.
Makhachev himself had previously named Prates as one of the most deserving title fight contenders. However, the UFC has not yet officially confirmed the bout.
