Russia's team confidently started at the European Sambo Championship

In Novi Sad, the first competitive day of the European Sambo Championship among boys and girls 16–18 years old has concluded.


The Russian national team confidently started the tournament, winning 12 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medals out of 16 possible. This result allowed the team to immediately take the lead and set a high pace for the entire championship.


The girls performed particularly brightly, winning gold medals in all weight categories. This underscores the high level of preparation of the athletes, the depth of the roster, and confidence in every match.


Starting the next day, competitions among juniors and junior girls 18–20 years old will begin. For the first time at the European level, medals in combat sambo among juniors will be contested. Previously, this discipline was featured only at world championships.


Ahead are several more intense days of the tournament, during which athletes will continue the fight for medals in various age and disciplinary categories.


The first day of competitions set a high pace for the entire championship, and the Russian national team intends to continue its successful performance aimed at new victories.
