Tad Jin became the new PFL welterweight champion. In the main event of PFL D.C., he defeated Ernesto Rodriguez by technical knockout in the third round and claimed the vacant title.
Initially, Jin was supposed to fight Shamil Musaev, but the Russian fighter withdrew from the tournament due to weight-cutting issues. Rodriguez accepted the title fight on short notice.
